I know what it is to
learn to see yourself again.
Mau’s Closet is personal to me. I have known seasons of feeling that I was not enough, and I have had to grow into a kinder, stronger understanding of who I am. That journey changed how I wanted to show up in the world—and what I wanted to create for other women.Mau’s Closet ni kitu cha moyoni kwangu. Nimepitia nyakati za kujiona kama sitoshi. Safari ya kujitambua na kujiona kwa upendo imenifundisha mengi. Nilitaka kile ninachojenga kiwe na nafasi ya kumkaribisha mwanamke na kumkumbusha thamani yake.
I love beautiful clothes. I love the moment when the right pieces come together. But the woman wearing them matters first. I want her to feel comfortable asking questions, trying something new and taking her time.Napenda nguo nzuri na namna look inavyokamilika. Lakini kwanza namwona mwanamke anayezivaa. Nataka ajisikie huru kuuliza, kujaribu mtindo mpya na kuchagua kwa utulivu.

My faith is central to my story. I believe God placed this vision in my heart, and I also believe I have a responsibility to do the work—to choose thoughtfully, build carefully and serve people well. The closet is one expression of the woman I am becoming.Imani yangu ni sehemu ya msingi wa safari yangu. Naamini Mungu ameweka wazo hili moyoni mwangu, na ninawajibika kulifanyia kazi: kuchagua kwa umakini, kujenga kwa nidhamu na kuwahudumia watu vizuri.

From finding pieces
to building a place.
My life in Houston introduced me to a world of fashion finds and different ways to shop. I began selecting clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry with a thought in mind: how could I bring this experience to women back home in Dar? The first collection started with pieces I personally chose in the United States and brought to Tanzania.Maisha Houston yamenipa nafasi ya kuona fashion na namna tofauti za kufanya shopping. Nilianza kuchagua nguo, viatu, mikoba na vito nikijiuliza: hii experience naileta vipi Dar? Collection ya mwanzo ilianza na bidhaa nilizochagua mwenyewe Marekani na kuleta Tanzania.
The ambition is a recognizable fashion destination with a clear point of view. A place where the welcome, the selection and the way the look comes together all feel connected.
